Working there comes with some unexpected perks, much to Andy’s delight. One being Oliver, her new colleague who is the embodiment of everything she’s ever wanted in a man. However, her affection for Oliver is tainted by the overwhelming attraction she feels for her new boss, Alexander.
Alexander “Lex” Coleman is cold and arrogant, but she can’t even blame him for it, considering his big brain and movie-star good looks.
Now, Andy is stuck battling her inner demons and desires while trying to build a successful career and have it all. It becomes a choice of mind over flesh. Right over wrong. Eventually, something has to give and it’s only a question of when, as Andy struggles with life and all the crazy complications that come with it.

I’ve loved reading all of my life. I have at least 2,000 books in my Wattpad Library, so, easily, I have a few dozen favorites. But Between the Lines is absolutely my all-time favorite. It’s funny, it’s entertaining, and unbelievably hot. The author, Darla, definitely has a way with words, each chapter she makes you fall so much more in love with the story. One of the most addicting books I’ve ever read.

So, imagine that you have a classic falling for the boss story, then turn that on its head, add a plethora of intelligent, unforgettable characters, and make it exponentially better. When you do that, if I’m not mistaken, you should get Between the Lines, an extremely well-written story that will make you laugh, cry, and feel hot and bothered in any location. 10/10. Must read.

I could easily say that Between the Lines is one of my favorite books I’ve ever read. The characters are witty and hilarious, but also full of color. The plot is just amazing. Every chapter makes me keep wanting more. And the writing is nothing but fantastic. The author captured the characters’ emotions so well and definitely made my reading experience worthwhile. I found everything I’ve been looking for in a romance book but it also delivered so much more.

It had me screaming at some points and crying at some. I’m in love with the characters, so much I cannot tell, the writing style and the way you conveyed emotions and the character development was something I cannot tell in words. So overall, if you ask me, this is THE best I’ve read so far. And I recommended it EVERYWHERE I can. I wish you the best. Keep up. And I love you, literally.

Honestly it’s one of the few romance books that made me smile to myself multiple times from how cute and genuine it is. I also love the writing and that it is so inclusive in not only race and lgbtqia+ aspects, but also disabilities like hearing impairment. Darla makes it so normal in the story like it should be.

Heartbroken and miserable, Andrea is trying to get over the man she so desperately loves. Seeing Lex at work nearly every day makes it impossible to heal, but the idea of never seeing him again is even worse. When she’s at her lowest and has lost all hopes of mending their relationship, things take an unexpected turn.
Soon, as life keeps pushing them together, neither of them has the strength to keep fighting the overwhelming feelings that draw them to one another. Both of them are filled with insecurities and self-doubts, and if they want to embrace the unconditional love that ties them together, they will have to grow past those, and accept that they are made for each other.
Life won’t make it easy, though, and complications keep getting in their way. If they can overcome it all, their bond will grow stronger, deeper, and unbreakable. But can things really work out between two people so different from one another?

I didn’t think that any book would be able to top the first, but I was delightfully mistaken. I am absolutely in love with this book. What makes the book so amazing is that it’s so genuine. It brings a sense of realness because of its authenticity. I can easily relate to what the characters are feeling and the struggles they face. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a series that they want to be 100% invested in.

Darla is the type of writer where her words and characters have such an impact on you that you carry them into your day-to-day life. You care about them and their experiences. I started reading BTL after a friend recommended I do and I quickly became enamored with her writing. Lex and Andy feel like real people and their dialogue jumps off the screen thanks to Darla’s talent. Her dedication to her readers and the bonds she builds with them are trusted and precious to everyone who knows her. Anyone who reads the first chapter of any of her books will understand. You’re in for wild ride with Darla, but boy does she make it worthwhile.

Below the lines is an incredible book. Its captivating and mesmerizing… incredibly written. You cant help but fall in love with the characters and become invested in their lives and the story that is being written. Kept me hooked from the very beginning all the way to the end. Its a journey you go through, all the emotions are so beautifully written you feel as though you’re on this journey with them and cant help but feel what they feel. Loved every minute of it and would read it time and time again. One of my favorite books to read.

The lines series is an incredible story with a great storyline. Lex and Andrea are great characters and someone who you probably look up to every day. With their struggles and yet coming together stronger than ever makes them even harder to resist. Moreover, the twists and turns definitely keep us, as readers, on our toes. And of course, Darla’s grammar definitely keeps our minds sane.

When all of her battles fail, Andy resorts to a much more dangerous approach. To her dismay, it unleashes a whole new kind of danger upon them. A danger they can’t ignore when it comes knocking at their doorstep.
On the run for the sake of their lives, they learn to trust and forgive each other. Regardless of how arduous it becomes, one thing is for certain: they are in this together and never letting go.
Loving each other will never be a mistake, but it might become their doom.
